Kangaroo Vine Plant

Another Kangaroo Vine is Cissus hypoglauca which seasonally produces a grape like fruit that is edible and has a history of indigenous use as a remedy for cold and flu but mainly sore throat.
Also frequently called Water vine it has small yellow flowers that appear October to December and fruits from February to May.
It will climb just about anything but can also be allowed to ramble over the ground which does make harvesting the fruit somewhat easier.
taking the fruit only and removing the seeds which are larger than most grape seeds, it can be simmered into a jam or jelly without adding sugar.
