Of the two varieties of Lemongrass that we grow, this variety (Cymbopogon citratus) has rarely produced viable seed for us, so we sell the root cuttings only.
Mainly used as a culinary herb, the leaves and stems of the lemongrass are beneficial to the stomach, and as an antiseptic.
The essential oil within the plant is useful for improving circulation and muscle tone.
Lemongrass can be dried, but we use it fresh if possible.
Left alone in the garden it will continue to reproduce itself indefinitely but it can be grown in pots for convenience.
As Lemongrass does not flower every year, and can defer for up to seven years between flowering, the seed stock may be exhausted for years.
If we have a quantity listed then you are in luck, but if not, it could be quite a while.
Bare Root cuttings. Trimmed for post.
PLEASE NOTE: We cannot send live plants outside Australia, to Western Australia or Tasmania.
