Vap Ca Plant

Vap Ca is a very popular tonic herb in Japan and is used as a tonic tea, but also for chronic earache.
It is a popular essential in Vietnamese cooking, imparting it’s reasonably strong, fish like aroma to any dish that it accompanies.
It prefers a moist and afternoon shaded position, but on the whole, if protected, it is easy enough to grow.
We find that it disappears in winter and re-emerges in Spring as long as the soil has not dried out completely.
