White Hyacinth Bean – Lablab bean seeds

Hyacinth bean is the ultimate ‘slow cook’ bean as it is essential to cook the well washed bean for at least several hours.
The benefits are well worth it though as it maintains a very high level of nutrition with cooking.
Like most of the bean family, it is extremely easy to grow but if you do not allow it climb on a trellis then it will spread indeterminately and form a nice groundcover.
This variety is quick to produce as it usually flowers and fruits 40-45 days after sowing the seed.
‘Rongai’ is a Kenyan variety and has a fruiting period of 3-4 months which makes it unusually worthwhile as a food crop.
Usually two or three plants will keep you fed and your your garden looking fantastic.
