Wild May – Tantoon Plant

This decorative shrub can grow to about 3 metres but can easily be pruned to shape and size and has masses of white flowers in spring.
Numerous tests are being done at present as the nectar from the flowers seems to be improving honey quality in commercial hives.
Some suggest that it a worthy replacement for Manuka.
As a real Australian native it will survive just about anywhere, even on poor rocky soils, but in good soil it will flourish.
The flowers are a pure white version of Geralton Wax and the resulting fruit is a favourite of the Crimson Rosella.
