Yarrow – Seeds

This is a beautiful groundcover.
It has a very low growing, spreading habit, sprouting many new plants from it’s rhizomes. It has quite a decorative and distinctive leaf with many erect flower toped stems throughout summer and Autumn.

You can pick the young shoots to add to salad, as they have a slight peppery taste. The flowering tops are digestive and cleansing tonic but over use can make the skin over sensitive to sunlight.
The leaves, combined with peppermint leaves and elderflower is a great soother for colds when we use it as a tea.
As a poultice for grazes, cuts and bruises it is not equalled in the garden.
As to it’s use for high blood pressure, improving circulation and toning varicose veins, we are still unsure and will update this when we have used it for such.
It’s use as a bio-dynamic preparation and a compost accelerator are indispensable in the garden.

Degree of difficulty in germination…..4/10 (1 is easy – 10 very difficult) Seasonal
